Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Canon 2x EF Extender III
The Canon 2x Teleconverter III is designed to provide extended range with a Canon L-series telephoto lens. It features nine elements in five groups that ensure improved optical performance. All optical elements use Canon’s super-spectra coating, which reduces ghosting and flare to minimize post-processing requirements, and a fluorine coating on the front and rear elements makes smudge marks much easier to clean. The extender features an integrated processor which ensures all focusing, metering, and ID information is available. Canon claims that, when combined with the range of premium Canon L-series lenses, these extenders enable higher AF accuracy.
Like the Canon 1.4X TC III, the Canon 2X TC III is a great alternative if you need more reach with your compatible telephoto lens. While previous generations had a very noticeable effect on image quality and AF performance, the TC III is a huge leap forward. Image quality and AF performance take a slight hit with the 2X, but it’s definitely not a deal breaker. It’s really best to use on the Canon L-series superteles, but it can be used on the 70-200mm f/2.8L and IS II with good results. However, as a general rule, remember that low light does not mix well with teleconverters. You will see focus hunting.
