Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Lensbaby Velvet 56mm f/1.6 for Canon
The Lensbaby Velvet 56mm f/1.6 is a fully-manual specialty lens designed for Canon EF-mount cameras and camcorders. Key features include:
Classic Rendering. Through the use of a singlet-doublet-singlet lens design, the Velvet 56mm produces a soft, glowing effect at wide apertures with smooth tonality similar to a classic 20th-century portrait lens. That’s a fancy way of saying it produces soft images. This look is desirable for portraiture.
Full-Frame Coverage. The 56mm focal length is a great environmental-portrait length for full-frame shooters. When used on a crop-frame body, you’ll get a more traditional-portrait focal length of 89.6mm. The f/1.6 aperture enables shallow depth of field and low-light capability.
Multipurpose Lens. In addition to its portrait qualities, the Velvet 56mm also features 1:2 maximum magnification for macro shooting. It has a 5" minimum working distance with a long manual-focus throw for minute adjustments.
Fully Manual. This lens provides no electronic communication with the camera. All aperture and focus adjustments must be made manually on the lens itself. The aperture you select won’t be displayed on the camera, and it won’t show up in the EXIF data. Are we out of stock?
