Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Nikon 300mm f/4E AF-S PF ED VR
The Nikon 300mm f/4E AF-S PF ED VR is a professional-grade super-telephoto lens and update to the Nikon 300mm f/4D ED AF-S. Key features include:
Phase Fresnel Lens Design. The phase fresnel optic allows the lens to be smaller and lighter compared to its predecessor. This advanced optic system effectively eliminates chromatic aberration and ghosting, ensuring high-quality images. If this sounds vaguely familiar, Canon has used this same optical formula for quite some time under the name Diffractive Optics.
Super Telephoto Prime. The 300mm focal length is popular for sports and wildlife photographers. With its reduced size and weight, this lens targets the latter of the two.
Vibration Reduction. The stabilizer is rated for up to 4.5 stops of correction, which in turn provides better image quality when hand-holding. Additionally, a designated Sports and Action VR Mode provides a more accurate stabilization method when panning.
Silent Wave Autofocus Motor. Provides fast, nearly silent autofocus with full-time manual-focus override for instantaneous manual-focus tweaking. There’s also a focus-limit switch for limiting the focus distance to 3m or further.
Build and Optics. Fluorine coating on the front lens element repels dust, water, grease, and dirt for easy cleaning. In addition to the phase fresnel element, there’s a single extra-low-dispersion element for aberration control. At 5.81" and 1.66 lbs., this 300mm lens is remarkably small compared to other options in the same quality range. Are we out of stock?
