The Nikon D3500 Camera

The Nikon D3500 is a high-resolution, versatile, and easy-to-use DSLR and an update to the previous-generation D3400. Key features include:

What’s New? The Nikon D3500 is functionally identical to the previous-generation D3400, with a body style is closer to that of the more-compact D5600. It lacks the D5600’s articulating touchscreen, but remains an versatile, feature-rich camera.

High-Resolution Sensor. This camera houses a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor that lacks an optical low-pass filter, providing sharper images at the expense of possible moiré. It has a normal ISO range of 100-25,600. The 5 fps continuous frame rate is useful for shooting your kid’s sporting events, but you’d be hard-pressed to push it much more.

Full HD Video. You can record at 1080/60p in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, with subject-tracking continuous autofocus. There’s a built-in stereo mic for quick and easy audio recording, but there’s no external mic input.

User-Friendly Controls. The simple-to-use Guide Mode is carried over from previous generations, making novice users feel at home. This camera’s settings and adjustments are simple to understand—it boasts multiple automated modes for beginners and full manual control for those who want to delve deeper. The large 3.0-inch 921K rear LCD is great for still and video composition.

SnapBridge Connectivity. With a SnapBridge Bluetooth connection, you can share 2MP images from the D3500 directly to a smartphone. With support for up to five unique devices, it’s fast and easy to transfer and share photos.
