Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Olympus 17mm f/1.8 Micro 4/3 Lens
The Olympus 17mm f/1.8 provides Micro 4/3 users with the classic 35mm focal length, perfect for street, landscape, and portrait photography. With its f/1.8 aperture, it allows great subject isolation with a smooth background blur and makes shooting in low light much easier, with high contrast and corner-to-corner sharpness even at its widest aperture.
The MSC (Movie and Stills Compatible) autofocus system gives fast, silent performance when shooting either still or video. If manual focus is needed, it features the Snapshot focus mechanism that’s seen in the wider Olympus 12mm f/2, allowing precision manual focus on the fly. When set to manual focus, distance and depth-of-field scales are revealed for hyperfocal distance focusing.
The 17mm f/1.8 features a metal barrel construction that houses the six-group/nine-element optics. It utilizes three aspherical elements to achieve its high image quality, with one high refractive index element to correct for spherical aberrations. It also has an optical coating to minimize ghosting and lens flare. With its compact size and popular focal length, the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 serves as a great choice for an everyday, walk-around lens.Tim's Take
The much awaited replacement to the original Olympus 17mm f/2.8, the new version offers higher image quality and a faster aperture. Build quality also gets a big leap forward, adopting the manual focus clutch seen in the 12mm f/2. If the 35mm focal length is your preferred focal length, the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 is a worthy choice.
