Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art for Canon
The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art for Canon is a fast-aperture standard zoom lens that’s part of Sigma’s Global Vision line. This version is for Canon EF-mount cameras. Key features include:
Working Photographer’s Bread and Butter. When used on a full-frame camera, the Sigma 24-70mm Art provides a fast-aperture, wide to short tele focal range that’s perfect for portrait and event photography. Using an APS-C sensor camera? You’ll have a focal length equivalent to 38.4-112mm. The fast f/2.8 aperture offers shallow depth-of-field capability, as well as allowing you to keep shooting even in low light.
High-Quality Optics. As a part of Sigma’s Art lens line, this new 24-70 Art is subjected to rigorous testing to ensure high image quality with a optical build that includes 19 elements in 14 groups. Four aspherical elements help to eliminate distortion and spherical aberrations. Three Special Low Dispersion elements correct for chromatic aberrations and color fringing while ensuring high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast. The Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes lens flare and ghosting, helping to provide high contrast in strong lighting.
Steady Hands, Fast Focus. The O.S. system reduces camera shake making for sharper imagery when shooting handheld. The autofocus system provides fast, smooth, and quiet operation in a broad range of shooting situations. You can also manually override the autofocus motor at any time by rotating the focusing ring, giving you quick fine-tuning ability.
Sigma Dock Compatibility. This lens is compatible with the Sigma USB Dock for Canon EF Lenses (separate rental item), allowing you to adjust certain parameters through the Sigma Optimization Pro software.Other Notables. Sigma’s Art 24-70 is weather sealed, making with dust and splash resistant. Made with a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, gives the 24-70 greater precision and allows for use in wide array temperature situations. A nine-blade rounded aperture helps to make for some creamy, smooth bokeh.
Many of us waited for the release of this lens because, well, Sigma Art and 24-70mm. It doesn’t quite live up to the “Art” name, which to me means “as good as any lens made at a lower price.” Is it as good as any lens made in this focal length? Well, no. No it’s not. It’s good, not great.
It’s at its best in the middle range, around 50mm, where many of the other 24-70s are weakest. It’s softer at 24mm where many of the others are strongest. And it’s really not a huge money saver. So, it’s an acceptable lens but not one I think of first when someone asks ‘which 24-70’.
