Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS E-Mount Lens
The Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS is a mirrorless lens designed for use with Sony E-mount cameras/camcorders. Its lightweight, aluminium alloy build provides users with a short telephoto lens that can be carried without burden. Equivalent to 75mm on a full-frame camera, it works great as a portrait lens. In addition, its f/1.8 aperture and built-in Optical SteadyShot make for a fantastic low-light shooting option. Its dual linear/stepping autofocus motor has been optimized for both still and video shooting, providing fast, silent focusing. It is compatible with Sony’s DMF (Direct Manual Focus) mode, allowing full-time manual focus.
This is an excellent, very capable 50mm lens. The horrid native mount lenses have kept the NEX cameras on the back burner for me until lately, but this lens is one of the first steps in changing that. It’s "tuned" to be extremely even corner-to-corner, meaning it may not be quite as sharp in the center as the Zeiss 24mm (when stopped down) or the Sigma 30mm (although it’s still very good). But it’s nearly as sharp in the corners as in the center, which can be critically important for edge detail in architectural photos, etc. It’s good wide open and very, very good by f/2.8.
