Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Sony Alpha A99 Camera
The Alpha A99 is the first full-frame SLT digital camera from Sony. Housing a 24.3MP 35mm-sized CMOS sensor, the A99 utilizes a dual AF system which translates to fast, accurate autofocus performance, including a new AF-D mode that utilizes both methods at once for precision autofocus tracking. The A99 also boasts a dedicated AF Range Control button that allows the user to set autofocus range limits on the fly. Throw in the A99’s 6fps continuous shooting mode and its normal ISO range of 100-25,600, and you have one of the most feature-rich AF systems for photographing moving subjects to date.
The A99 is also quite the video powerhouse, shooting Full HD 1080P video at up to 60fps in AVCHD / MP4 format for quick, in-camera recording. The camera also simultaneously exports clean, uncompressed video to an external recorder via HDMI. It includes both a 3.5mm mic input and 3.5mm headphone output for recording and monitoring high quality audio.
The A99 is an extremely lightweight camera, weighing a mere 1.6 lbs, yet offers a durable, weather-sealed, magnesium-alloy body. It features the same 2359K OLED electronic viewfinder first seen in the A77 and NEX-7, giving you a live preview of exactly what you’ll get once the shutter is fired. The large 3.0" 921K rear LCD performs well even in bright daylight while offering the flexibility to position it any way desired via its 3-axis arm.
The A99 is the first Sony DSLR to feature a standard ISO hotshoe, making it compatible with a huge variety of third-party accessories such as strobe triggers and various third-party flashes. The dual SD memory card slots not only allow simultaneous recording of images to both cards, but can also write video to both cards at once, creating an immediate backup of all recorded video, just in case the unforeseen happens. For still shooters, the A99 also records its 14-bit RAW images (a first for Sony digital cameras!!!) to compatible SDHC/XC memory cards.Keeping consistent with its predecessor, the A99 uses the same NP-FM500H lithium battery, which is rated at 410 shots per charge using the EVF and 500 shots per charge when using the rear LCD. For video shooters, you’ll see roughly 155 minutes of recording per charge.
This one is short and sweet. If you are already invested in the Sony Alpha system, this is the camera you want. The fast, extremely flexible AF system with on-the-fly, custom focus limiting alone makes this camera worth it. The fact that high ISO performance and image quality is also great is icing on the cake.
