Why Stock Photos?
The short answer is that we use stock photos on some listings to save us time and to save you money. The longer answer is that we love to take photos of each and every lens, camera, and accessory, but doing so takes a lot of time and makes it difficult to get everything listed. So, we decided to compromise: take gorgeous photos of some things and charge a little more for them, and use stock photos for other items and charge a little less for those, all else equal.
The items listed here were tested thoroughly by our trained technicians. If they observed any significant flaws, you’ll see them detailed above. If the items listed here are exceptionally awesome, you’ll see that noted above too. Regardless, please remember this is a used item and it’s bound to have at least a microscopic imperfection.
If you're interested in purchasing an item with specific photos and ratings, we don’t blame you one bit. Please visit one of our Exposed! listings (if available), usually marked with a green badge. If none are currently available, by all means, contact us.

The Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2 Planar for Sony E-Mount
The Zeiss Loxia E 50mm f/2 Planar for Sony E is a high-quality manual-focus lens designed specifically for full-frame E-mount cameras like the Sony Alpha a7/a7II/a7R/a7S. Key features include:
Classic Design. Based on the great Zeiss ZM 50mm f/2 Planar for Leica, the Zeiss Loxia E 50mm f/2 Biogon is a manual-focus, manual-aperture lens with electronic contacts for transmitting EXIF data and focus confirmation with Sony E-mount cameras. While it’s optimized for full-frame cameras, the Loxia line of lenses is fully compatible with APS-C Sony E-mount cameras with a 1.5x crop factor.
Standard Prime. When used on a full-frame camera, you have yourself a “nifty fifty” that’s long been popular for just about every type of photography. With an APS-C sensor camera, you’ll have a normal/short tele lens with a focal length equivalent to 75mm.
Fast Aperture. The f/2 aperture enables decent low-light shooting and great background blur for controlling depth of field. The manual aperture ring offers 1/2-stop clicks throughout the f/2-22 range, as well as the ability to mechanically switch to clickless operation.
Manual Focus. The knurled metal focus ring rotates 180º, providing smooth, weighted operation. Engraved depth-of-field and distance-scale markings ensure easy visibility, and the lens’s built-in electronics enable both focus confirmation and automatic viewfinder magnification.
Advanced Optics. The symmetrical Biogon design features four groups/six elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion without the need for additional specialized elements. Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating eliminates lens flare and ghosting while providing the famous high micro-contrast Zeiss look.
High-Quality Build. The all-metal barrel gives the Loxia 50mm a solid feel with a weather-resistant gasket at the lens mount to protect against the elements. Are we out of stock?
